Case Study – Party Godmother
Party Godmother set up in County Durham in the spring of 2006. The business sells themed children's party ideas, party supplies and dressing up costumes, toys and games and balloons. From day one, the business saw that an e-commerce web site would be an ideal way to promote the business and sell products.
Atomic Web Solutions were commissioned in June 2006 to create a web site that would appeal to adults and children alike.
The brief given to us was:
- Well-designed web site that would look different from the average online shopping sites of competitors
- Intuitive shopping facilities for customers
- Good levels of accessibility
- Secure online payment facilities
- Lots of orders in the shortest possible time from launch
We achieved:
- Quirky fun and colourful design
- Easy to use online shopping facilities with advanced features such as affiliate scheme handling, discount handling, full Style/Colour/Size product handling facilities required for businesses selling apparel or footwear products
- Targeted e-mail facilities
- Search Engine Optimisation and Marketing strategy
Because the web site (and the business) was new, it was realised that to achieve good search engine positioning would take up to 12 months. We therefore worked with the business to develop a ‘Pay Per Click’ advertising campaign. This campaign, together with comprehensive literature distribution campaigns resulted in orders being placed within a few days of the launch of the web site.
